Objectives of the Department:  The department strives to

  • Develop students’ skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing and translating English.

  • Provide students with the necessary tools and methods for linguistic analysis and literary appreciation and  criticism..

  • Develop the students’ skills and abilities in analytical and critical thinking to help them analyse and interpret texts and understand cultural diversity.

  • Promote students’ ability to relate their studies to relevant contemporary and local issues.
